618.) President Obama met with leaders of the European Union about their debt crisis. The President said, “

I communicated to them that the United States stands ready to do our part to help them resolve this issue. This is of huge importance to our economy.” Yes, it is important to our economy to have people to export to. This is a lesson that can be learned from the past. In 1929 the United States Economy tanked, much as it had earlier in that decade. Unlike the previous crash, Herbert Hoover was now no longer part of the President’s Cabinet, he WAS the President, and as such he was in a much better position to inact progressive policies that he thought were essential during the first crash.  One of the things he did was, like all progressives, raise taxes. He did not raise them on inviduals though, he raised the tariff on imported goods. His belief was that this would spur a buy American movement, which would spur the economy on. However, this was not the case, the people whom we exported too did not like that we were now taxing their goods, so they raised their taxes on our goods. So our goods where more expensive in other countries, fewer people bought them, and that hurt the economy… who would have thought raising taxes was bad.  So President Obama is right, if Europe crashes, fewer people will be able to buy our goods, thus our economy will get worse.
Now that that is said, I have a major question, how does President Obama think that the United States of America is going to be able to help the EU?
His comments did suggest that he was not willing to give anymore of China’s The United States money to the EU.  That is good news, but I still wonder what it is that we are going to do to help?
One possible solution would be to support the International Monetary Fund, lending the European Union more money. This sounds like a good idea, supporting someone else lending the EU money, rather than giving the European Union the money that China gave us.  Just like how President Obama gave control of the Libyan Conflict over to NATO. Wait, that was a slieght of hand, because the United States funds most of NATO.  Now that I think about it, I think this would be a slieght of hand as well. Allow me to explain, the IMF is an orginization that was developed in the 1940’s with the intent of promoting international economic cooperation, international trade, employment, and exchange rate stability. There was also another, more important function. Each country in the IMF put money into a pot. This pot was a resource that nations could temporarly borrow from to meet payment imbalances. Not all countries have contributed equally, and suprise suprise the United States is the largest share holder in the IMF.   Now many people will say that the IMF already has plenty of funding. The problem though is that, if this plan fails, the IMF will have to restock the pot, and where is a lot of that money coming from, your pocket.
Now President Obama did not suggest the IMF, that was brought up by White House Spokeperson Jay Carney, I am not sure that this is the step that has been choosen, I am just saying that it was suggested.
What concerns me is that the greatest minds in the world are talking at these summits, people like Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, a man who could not figure out Turbo Tax is going to try to solve the economic crisis in Europe?
The main reason behind this post, is that I am concerned when our President is promising to help someone with their debt crisis, when he has done nothing but compound our debt crisis here at home.  Any action we take to provide monetary relief would only make our situation worse.
I suggest looking to the past. I do not know specifics, but I do know President Obama’s thought process. He does not look to fix the problem he just likes to cover it up, also known as “priming the pump” with massive government spending, which never works to spur on the economy, after all it is massive government spending that has brought the United States to the situation we are in now, and has brought the European Union to its knees. The main problem with the progressive mindset is eventually you run out of someone elses money.   What I suggest doing is cutting taxes on international trade. If the members of the EU agree to cut their tariffs on United States goods, and the United States cuts the tariffs on the goods coming into the country from the EU. Lets do the opposite of whatbPresident Hoover did.  More money coming into both groups, means more tax revenue from income tax, which brings stability to the financial system.  Government only has money if the people who pay government have money.
Time will tell. I just wish President Obama would tell us how he planed on helping the EU.

I am going to take a moment and talk about something other than politics. Something that has been bothering me for a long time. Normally schedualed programing will return shortly.

Life is a journey, a trip down a long winding path, and it is easy for one to become distracted by the things that litter the sides.  Money, power, toys, games, they all seem so aluring, they all seem like they will bring so much happiness to your life. But in realality they mean nothing, they bring with them nothing, all they do is further cloud and shade that which is important. Yes these things bring with them small bits of pleasure, and I am not saying that you should not seak them, but do not do so at the expense of what you truely need in life.  I did, and I have let so much slip away, that I have not slept a full night in many a long month.

I grew up in a small town in Ohio, a town which has grown up with me into a thriving city. If you looked at it when I was born and look at it now, you would never believe it was the same place. Time changes all things. My family farm was demolished and turned into condos, the massive old oak trees on main street, that we used to sit under during sunday school have been cut down to widen the road. The old shopes demolished to make way for a new four story mix used structure. Nothing is as it was. The only constant through it all, was my family.

My family has lived in my home town for well over 150 years, four generations have all graduated from the same highschool, and it is this solid foundation that has led to us being a strong tight nit group. I left home, went off to start a new adventure in an attempt to make something of myself, and lasted only a few months away, realizing that everything I ever needed, or wanted was back home. It is hard to live without that support system, that network, that unbreakable group of people who will stand by you no mater what.  But I grew lazy, I grew content, I truely thought that nothing could break the family apart. I fell down on the job I swore to my grandmother that I would do. I swore I would protect the family, and I have failed miserably.

In recent months my family has begun to fall apart. One of my cousins(who, along with her 50 year old mother, live with my grandfather) brought into the family a boy who was the definition of scum. The guy lied to the family about having cancer. My Grandfather banded this man from entering his home. She snuck him in anyways.  I should have put a stop to it then, but I didn’t fearing what might happen, not wanting to spark outrage, or cause undo stress upon my Grandfather. You see he has a condition that, when he gets stressed and his blood preasure spikes, he has leakage in his eye which destroy’s his vision. Well I should have stepped in when I could because the situation has exploded.  I will not go into details, but the family is now fuding.

There is no stress in the world like watching your family fall apart. There is no pain in the world, like watching one of your heros break down. There is no greater feeling of worthlessness than feeling like you are powerless to stop it.  There is nothing more important than family.

So my advice to everyone of you,  look around at what you have, look around at your family. I am not talking just blood relations, I am talking about all those people in your life who are there for you, the people who comfort you when you are hurt, who help you stand when you are weak, who raised you, who helped make you what you are today. The people who laugh with you, and cry with you. Which is more important, the things, or the people.  Hold on to your family at all costs, you can always make more money, you can always buy more things, but once your family is gone, its gone. The world is a cold place to be when you are buy yourself.  The streets have no remorse for you. Once the warmth of your family is gone, the cold bitting wind of a dark world is all that waits for you.

617.) “Judge me by the company I keep” Those were the words President Barack Obama while he was running for President in 2008. Those were the words of a man who started his career in the home of a known, unremorseful terrorist Bill Ayres, this from a who associates with George Sores a man who enjoys collapsing economies, this from a man who put men like Van Jones a radical leftest extremist, and many, many more.  The reason I bring this up is due to events that took place in a New Hampshire Highschool on November 22nd, 2011. President Obama was giving a speech, but before he could dive into the depths of his speech, a rumbling from the crowd disrupted the Presidents Speech. It was not the heckling that comes from those who march under the Gasden Flag, and it was not the typical supportive cheer that the President is used to hearing, no instead it was the “Human Mic” of the Occupy Movement, “Mic check” was yelled this then lead to chanting “Mr. President, over 4,000 peaceful protesters have been arrested…” The protesters where cut off by the crowd who came to had come to hear President Obama speak. The crowd quickly overpowered the Occupy Protesters by shouting “Obama, Obama”, and of course “Yes we can!”.

President Obama, never lost his smile, he then said, “No, no, no — it’s okay”, fallowed by, ““I appreciate you guys making your point. Let me go ahead and make mine. I’ll listen to you. You listen to me” This seemed to calm the crowd down.  President Obama then said, “Families like yours, young people like the ones here today — including the ones who were just chanting at me — you’re the reason that I ran for office in the first place” Really… they are the reason you ran for office in the first place.  I don’t think President Obama would have said the same thing about the Tea Party… actually he didn’t he mocked them for “waving around tea bags”.  This is just another in a long line of endorsments of the Occupy movement, a movement that thumbs the law, deficats on the streets, and disrupts the daily lives of innocent people.

I think President Obama is doing trying to do to the Occupy Movment, what he did to the Tea Party, manipulate its message to fit his agenda. He said, “So a lot of the folks who have been down in New York and all across the country, in the Occupy movement, there is a profound sense of frustration — (applause) — there is a profound sense of frustration about the fact that the essence of the American Dream — which is if you work hard, if you stick to it, that you can make it — feels like that’s slipping away.” Thats not really what, from what I have seen, the Occupy Protesters are protesting for.  Some are calling for communism, which is the opposite of the American Dream, some are calling for fascism which like communism is the opposite of the American Dream. I know many in this movement are probably concerned citizens who are out to show their concern for their nation. But this movement has so many people who are out there looking for a free ride, trying to use this movement to plant the seeds of revolution.  That is what I have seen, I may be wrong. But when I went to a Tea Party rally, if there was a racist, anti-semitic, or violent individual they were singled out and asked to leave. If they didn’t leave, they were fallowed by members of the group, who shouted that this person was not with us. I have not seen that in the Occupy Protesters.  So either President Obama is oblivious to what happens at these OWS camps, He doesn’t care, or he knows but is trying to use this leftest movement to his advantage.

Now the quotes here do not, by themselves, justify a point. However, these quotes, and President Obama’s past actions with the Tea Party, do justify a point.  He was never this friendly with the Tea Party, a lawful, peaceful, protest movement. Why is he so friendly with the OWS movement? As the President said, “Judge me by the company I keep.”

616.) Well as most of the world now knows, well those who care about important things like the finanical future of our nation, the super committee has failed. What that means is that there will be huge spending cuts in both defense spending, and social programs.  President Obama had some strong words on the failure, but what were those words, were they words of encouragement to the nation, words of disappointement in the law makers in congress not working together, or perhapes words on how to move forward, which words did President Barack Obama choose to lead this nation from darkness after this troubling turn of events? Actually he chose none of these words, instead of being a leader President Obama chose to take this opprotunity to campaign, and rather than move forward play the blame game and hope to score some political points. He put the blame for the failure of the super committee souly on the shoulders of those evil Republicans who only want rich people to live and poor people to die in the streets. He said “There are still too many Republicans in Congress who have refused to listen to the voice of reason and compromise”, really, Republicans won’t listen to reason and compromise, that is funny, I believe the same was said when he ram rodded his Healthcare bill through congress, even then it was the Republicans fault (even though he didn’t need a single Republican vote to pass the law). It seems he has no other action he can take, no other club in his golf bag to choose, than blame Republicans, well there is always the good ol 7 iron of blame Bush.  Unfortunatly in this case President Obama is either lying, or demonstraighting the fact that he has paid no attention to the proceedings of this Super Committee. It was not just the stuborn hard headed, mustache twirling, cigar smoking Republicans who would not see reason, it was not Republicans that would not compromise, it was the Democrates on the Super Committee who refused to yeild. So I will lay out the facts in as simple of a manor as possible.

  • As Defined by Webster Compromise: a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.
  • Republicans stand against raising taxes. Democrats want to raise taxes
  • The Super Committee was charged with cutting $1,200,000,000,000.00 (1.2 trillion dollars) from the deficit.
  • Democrats proposed $1,000,000,000,000.00 (One trillion dollars), in new taxes. In other words they wanted 83.33% of the reduction in the deficit to be from tax revenue.
  • In the last two weeks before the end of the super committee, Republican Pat Toomey made the first Republican Proposal that included new revenues. The proposal was a $1.5 trillion dollar deal, with new tax revenues on the scale of $300,000,000,000.00 (300 billion dollars.) So in this case 20% of the deficit reduction came from revenue.
  • Democrats rejected the idea. From Senator John Kerry “We have a big gap with respect to where we are on revenue”
  • Eventually GOP members of the Super Committee put $600,000,000,000.00 in revenue on the table. These included auctioning broadcast spectrum space, the sale of excess federal land, Medicare premium increases for wealthier seniors, and modifying tax write-offs for mortgage interest and charitable giving.” In exchange for lowering top income taxes from 35% to 28%, as well as making all marginal income tax rates permanent.
  • This was rejected. Senator Pat Murray said that Republicans had not offered “real revenue”. Senator John Kerry said he would give no details on,”on anything we’ve offered or they’ve offered”.

Now, I am not saying that the Republicans are not to blame. But What I am saying is that, they are not souly at fault. The Democrats would not yeild on taxes, while Republicans did.  Lets look at some of the facts, Democrats wanted 83.33% of the deficit reduction to be new revenues, okay so that means that they wanted 16.77% of the deficit reduction to come in the form of spending cuts.  The Republican plan called for 20% of the deficit to be tax increases, and 80% to be spending cuts.  So when you look at it in this light, Republicans gave more, 3.33% more.  Now what should have happened, is the Democrats go, well we will settle for 7 billion, if you give us ________. Eventually Republicans offered $600,000,000,000.00 in new tax revenues, that would equate out to 40% of the deal. The GOP was giving, they gave 40% more than their orginial position, what did Democrats move? Did they agree to give 56.77% in spending cuts? If they had, we would only have fallen short by 3.23%, (roughly 3.87 billion dollars). I don’t believe they did, maybe I am wrong, if I am please put down how much the Democrats gave, on what, and a source (i like reading). There was a back and forth though, in the last fleeting moments of the super committee, the beginnings of true compromise, true give and take, was in the works. However, time ran short, and the deal fell through. Prehapes if there was more time, or if the deal had been put forth sooner something would have come of it. Here is the rub. The political climate would not, and will not allow for dealings such as this to take place. People are dug in deep on party lines, turning compromise into no man land in the between the two. President Obama, and key Democrats in Congress (Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi) has been bombarding the Republican Party and those on the right for three years now, causing them to build deep strong trenches, build tall walls around themselves. When the white flag of truce was put up, and they left the saftey of their bunkers they were met not with someone willing to make a deal, but rather a general whose negotiating tactic was, we are going to do what we want and if people don’t like that, well elections have consequences.  Why on earth would Republicans deal with Democrats? I am not saying that it is write, I believe in being the bigger man, but the logic here makes sense. Democrats have been in charge of the House of Representatives sense 2006, and the Senate sense 2008. They had super majorities in both houses from 2008 through 2010, they have not had to negotiate in a long time. They have a President who like I said, fuels the party line fued by choosing to demonize the Republicans, as oppossed to dealing with them like human beings. He chooses to mock and ridicule the Conservatives in this nation, then wonders why they don’t negotiate. Why would Democrats negotiate with Republicans, as the head of their party keeps telling them that by not negotiating they have more to gain? Neither party is necessarly putting country first. I understand, trust me I understand the concept of sticking to ones morals. But there are ways to find compromise without rejecting them.  Had President Obama lived up to his claim of being a Uniter, instead of the Divider he has been, perhapes this debt deal would have come through.  But as long as he continues putting the blame souly one half the country, as opposed to saying, “that didn’t work, we have to try something else”, that is not going to change. He isn’t looking for compromise, he is looking for blindfolded submission.

Now I will say this, I am extremely pleased when I heard President Obama say, that he would veto any attempt to stop the automatic spending cuts.  It is good to see him finally standing by the law.

Lets set the example with this post, rather than fall into the usually he said she said, blah blah arugments that normally respond, lets say what we like, say what we though should be different, see if the rulers of this nation can come up with something that our servants could not.  Oh and as always please keep all post clean, and free of vulgar language (otherwise it will be deleted).

615.) President Obama, most progressives for that mater, hate the idea of checks and balances that was designed into our republican system of government. They don’t like the no one branch has supreme power, that is a hinderance to cramining through their big government, liberty crushing, ideas down our throats. I have commented on this before, always met by progressives going, I guess you hate roads, I guess you hate police, but I ask them to read this, actually read this.  In this case President Obama is trying to BREAK THE LAW, he is trying to go back through a law that he signed, to much celebration, a law that he claimed would solve all the nations ills, a law that he said was critical for the salvation of humanity, the health care law.  President Obama is attempting to use no existant executive power to overide the intent of congress and change existing laws to match his whim. Basically he is acting like a dictator. Yes I know the elected legislator passed this law, and I signed it, but I changed my mind, so I am going to just change the law as I see fit. Forget that silly notion of a nation of laws, this is a nation of one Man, I President Obama. The Obama administration has found a glitch in Obamacare, and are now trying to find a way to rewrite it without involving congress. This Glitch in the program was discribed by the Wallstreet Journal as “a major glitch that that threatens its basic functioning”

Under Obamacare individual States are urged to create what are called Health-Insurance Exchanges.  The law then offers “premium assistance” in the forms of tax credits, and subsidies to those households who choose to purchase health insurance through these exchanges. This part of the law, as stated by the Wallstreet Journal “This assistance was designed to hide a portion of the law’s cost to individuals by reducing the premium hikes that individuals will face after ObamaCare goes into effect in 2014.”

Here is where this minor glitch comes into play, under the law the States are not forced to create these health insurance exchanges, and only 17 states have choosen to do so.  Under Obamacare, Washington has the ability to create health insurance exchanges if the states don’t.  Whats funny about this, is the fact that under the bill, that President Obama surely read from cover to cover, then signed into law of his own free will, only the state run exchanges can authorize premium assistance. So basically, individual states can choose not to create the health exchange, and the Federal Government cannot bypass that states decission and implement the premium assistance anyways.  This is the law that the Democrat controlled congress passed, this is the law that PResident Barack Obama signed, this is the bill that progressives everywhere harelded as the coming of a new era, this is the bill that progressives claimed that they eusurped the power to create rights from God.  This isn’t made up, this isn’t some trick, this is the law.

Well, for those progressives out there, who have trouble with math, there are only 17 states who have choosen to inact the health insurance exchange, that is less then half, it is roughly 34% of the country, that meanst hat 66% have choosen to reject the law.

The Obama Administration has to fix this glitch, otherwise free will might win out, but they know they cannot fix the glitch the legal way, so instead President Obama is seaking to bypass congress, he is choosing to spit in your face, and instead abuse executive authority.  Over the summer the administration and IRS rule that would allow premium assistance “whether established under section 1311 or 1321.”  This is a direct afront to the law. He does not have the authority, nor does the IRS to go and change laws passed by congress. He does not have the authority to create new law. This is tyranny in the most direct form. Trampling the power of the elected legislator, because it would oppose changes.  Now of course the administration does not see this egregious front to congressional authority as a power grab, no they insist that the offering premium assistance, where congress has not authorized it (where the law allows it),  “is consistent with the intent of the law and our ability to interpret and implement it.” The law is pretty clear, that only the state run programs have the ability to offer premium assistance. But what is a minor thing like law, ignore law, its not like President Obama is bound by law, he is President doesn’t that mean he is a king imune from law… “when the President does it, its not illegal.” Who said that… Oh yes Richard Nixon.

So the moral of the story, President Obama wanted a Health Care bill, the Democrats in congress created a bill, the American People didn’t want the bill.  The Democrats in congress thumbed the American people and passed it. President Obama then signed the bill.  President Obama reads the bill, finds out that there are ways to not have to take part, he chooses to then just change the law, because he thinks the President is all powerfull.

614.) The Washington Post reported that Emails between Solyndra and the Obama Administration show that the Department of energy pushed Solyndra to announce layoffs after November 3, 2010.  The October 2010 emails show that the Cheif Executive of Solyndra told the Department of Energy that the company planned to announce layoffs on October 28th, 2010. However an Email sent on October 30th, 2010 advisers to one of Soylndra’s Primary investors, Argonaut Equity, explain that the Department of Energy strongly urged the company to wait to November 3rd, 2010 to make the announcement. That is what they did on November 3rd, 2010 Solyndra announced that it was laying off 40 employees, 150 contractors, and shutting down Fab 1 Factory. Now one might ask what is the big deal? Well I ask them what happened on Novemeber 2nd, 2010… The Mid Term Elections.  Of course the Administration did not want a company that recieved over half a billion dollars in tax payer money, to announce massive layoffs right before elections, thats bad politics. So the Administration abused its power to save the jobs of political allies. Nice to know that good old fashion corruption can be found in the Administration of change.

611.) I know I don’t have to post this, I mean it is not really news, but there is more evidence that President Obama does not like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During the G20 summit President Obama talking to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Sarkozy complained to President Obama that,”I cannot stand him [Netanyahu]. He is a liar”. Now at this point President Obama had two options, the first would be to use his “grand speaking skills” and calm Mr. Sarkozy down, defuse the situation if you will. The second, would be to join in on the complaining about Netanyahu. See if you can figure out which one he chose? President Obama  said, “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!” Now if Israel was not one of our major allies, I probably would write this off. If this was the first offense, possibly I would right this off. But this is just another in a long line of insults to the leader of one of our major allies, one of the few countries in the Middle East that doesn’t dream of the down fall of the United States. I do not understand why it is the President does not like the Prime Minister, but this is as imature of a response as I could have imagened to this situation.

612.) President Obama has again shown his poorly hidden contempt for this nation. At the economic summit in Hawaii President Obama had this to say about the United States of America, “But we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America” This comes as no suprise, we all know that he would never accept that it is his policies that have failed, that it was the ideals of the progressives that have failed the nation. Has America been lazy when it comes to bringing jobs to our shores, I don’t think so. The problem is, is that we haven’t been lazy when it comes to allowing progressives to implement their ideals. We have allowed them to create a Tax code, and labyrinth of regulations that consumes jobs at an unimaginable rate.  We have been lazy in our job of keeping government in check, inside of the cage we built for it. Now of course there will be progressives who say do you want people to die in the streets, who is going to take care of the poor, who is going to take care of the elderly, who is going to take care of the sick. The answer is Us, the people of the United States.  We should be taking care of our neighbors, our family, our friends, and we should not have to have the government do it for us.  Can you really say you care for the poor, if you expect the government to take care of them, if you expect the rich to pay for the programs to take care of them? No, you can’t, you have to be willing to help them yourself.  So in a sense yes Mr. President you are right we have been lazy, we have allowed the progressives to warp our minds and neglected our responsibilities. But it is not that we have been lazy trying to get jobs to come here, the lack of jobs rests souly on the shoulders of big government. No mater what you say, how you look at it, people will not open shopes if it is too expensive, and that is exactly what big government does. Progressivism is akin to laziness.

613.) As always on the 13th post, time for a little humor. This relates back to Halloween. Mrs. Obama insists on giving out healthy treats, such as apples and veggitables. If she doesn’t loosen up, and give out some candy bars, the White House is going to get egged.

Today is November  8th, it is the first tuesday after the first monday of November, you know what that means, its election days. Whether you agree with me or not in my political views, today is the most important day of our Republican system of government. Today is the day where you can make your voices heard.  Think long and hard, about what your voting for and why, question with boldness the claims of both supporters and opponets to the changes/cannidates.  WE are the last best hope for freedome on this world, “We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness”. Do not let the great experimate of the American Republic come to and end. If you don’t vote, if you choose to avoid the polls you are betraying the system that has given the world so much. Go out and vote.
